I have been building mandolins for about 3 and half years, a total of 24 mandolins to date. I came into the mandolin business with some previous experience in building furniture for my home as a hobby. I started playing the mandolin about five years ago owned a couple other mandolins but was never truly satisfied with the sound. I started researching all the info I could find on mandolin construction I also studied violin and archtop guitar construction from all of this. The first june mandolin was born march of 2001 the June name is a tribute to my mother June who passed away of cancer nine years ago. All june mandolins are handmade one at a time from the best availible woods no two of my mandolins are identical they each have there own distinct personality all are based upon the 1923 loar design but with a few of my own cosmetic changes. I can build a standard F5 copy or my distinct open scroll design with matching peghead A5 models are also availible, as are oval hole models patterned after the F4 mandolin material choices.
